2011 Annual Banquet
February 25, 2011

The Northwest Connecticut Sportsman’s Council held its 11th annual banquet on February 25, 2011 at the Grand Oak Villa in Oakville.  With over 400 sportsmen and women in attendance, the Council was pleased to host guests from our northwest legislative leadership including: State Senator Andrew Roraback, and State Representatives John Piscopo and Craig Minor. Also in attendance were Mayor Ryan Bingham from Torrington and DEP Commissioner Designate Daniel C. Esty and his wife Elizabeth.

The Council was pleased to award State Representative Craig Miner of the 66th District the   “2010 Sportsman of the Year Award.” Representative Miner’s knowledgeable and principled work as a member on the Environment Committee, a leader of the State Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, and a member of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission; along with Craig’s willingness to listen to and work with his various constituencies, were recognized by the Council leadership.

Citing his many years of work in the Connecticut Legislature on behalf of all CT citizens; and sportsmen in particular, the Council was pleased to award Representative Miner a plaque attesting to his achievements in preserving our Traditional Outdoor Heritage in Northwest Connecticut.
